Launch date
The tentative launch date for the Megha-Tropiques mission is December 2009, according to the French programmation of the phases C,D of the project. Further ISRO-CNES dicussions will precise this point.

Brief update on ISRO-CNES sharing
The main new feature allowing a re-start of the mission in 2004 was the proposal of India to provide an IRS platform instead of the French Proteus. Thus, the pressure on the CNES budget has been reduced.

Phases C, D et E engagement

The CNES administration council has decided to engage C, D and E phases of the MEGHA-TROPIQUES project : a french-indian mission of CNES (Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales) and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), dedicated to research on atmospheric circulation and hydrologic cycle in their tropical component.

First Megha-Tropiques French team meeting in CNES-Headquarters, january 12, 2005
This meeting aimed to give a new start to the scientific studies related to the mission. It gathered participants of several French and european groups who presented their views on the possible uses of Megha-Tropiques for scientific studies and applications.
