CMSAF hosted a very successfull two-day informal meeting around the Megha-Tropiques mission with participants from NIO, Hamburg University, CMSAF, RMIB and IPSL.  Discussions focused on the estimation of the surface budget from space including surface radiation parameters, evaporation and rainfall over land and ocean.  Potential (numerous) further collaborations among the participants were also discussed. 7 july 2009: presentations of the 8th GPM meeting on line
The 8th international planning workshop on GPM has been held from 16 to 18 June 2009, in France, Paris. It was hosted by CNES and CNRS/IPSL, in the frame of the Megha-Tropiques mission. More than 110 participants have attended the meeting, from different countries and institutions (NASA, CNES, ISRO, JAXA, ECMWF, WMO, GEWEX, ..). 16-18 june 2009: 8th GPM planning workshop
The 8th International Planning Workshop on Global Precipitation Measurement  (GPM) will be held  on 16-18 June 2009 in Paris, France, jointly hosted by CNES and CNRS, in the frame of the Megha-Tropiques mission. In anticipation of the upcoming launch of the  Megha-Tropiques satellite, which will contribute two microwave radiometers (MADRAS and SAPHIR) to significantly upgrade the sampling by the GPM constellation in the Tropics, this workshop will provide a programmatic forum.
